Wed. Apr. 4 Spring

It is funny as I write this post  for Tues. being that today is Fri. I smile when I say spring . I thought Thur and Fri. were going to be snow days. On Wednesday we did go for a walk and saw signs of spring. Here are the pictures of Crocus in the front .

 Sprouting buds.

Millie using her little pad to sketch the crocuses.

We hope they survived the snow on Thur. and Fri.

Tues. Apr. 2 Shapes.

March was a crazy fast month . We had march break then Easter. I feel the learning happened so fast. We read a book Friendshapes and A Perfect Square. . children are exploring shapes in the class.

Fri. Mar 2 Plants

Well I have to say I was a little disappointed the children were not interested in the plant that started to grow on the window sill. I moved it to another area of the room. I will have to investigate and see if it is the plant I think I know. The seeds that I planted with children back in the fall have slipped my mind. I should have wrote labels . We planted a few different kinds of seeds  in different planting pots.
It is a mystery.
Have a good weekend .
Share the love!!!

Fri. Mar.2 Carnaval

The students got to meet Bonhomme while getting ready for outdoor Ed.

Older students got to try crepes and maple syrup.
Yummy for them.
Riley showed students his 2018 Carnaval pin.
I am sure it was a fun day for the students to celebrate the French bilingual part of their education.
Thanks for sharing.
carnaval est tres amusant.

Feb 28 Pink Shirt Day

On Feb 28 is National Pink Shirt Day to stop bullying. In 2007 a young boy in ninth grade in Nova Scotia was bullied because he wore a pink shirt to school. As a way to stand up against bullying this day must be remembered. We are lucky because it is a constant reminder every Wednesday we acknowledge this day by wearing pink. I try to wear pink to represent by passion to stand up against bullies.
Proud students and teachers to wear pink to stand against bullying.
