Mon Jun 5 Pond Walk.

There was a break in the rain so we went for a walk to the pond. Some of the students were very quiet and fortunate to see a Blue Heron at the pond.  I was at the end of the line and the Heron flew away i tried to capture a photo but sadly missed it. The next time we go to the pond we have to be quiet to natural animals.
The Blue Heron is in the tall
skinny tree on the right.
A black animal up ahead. . We think it was a cat.
  Mallard Ducks
 Egg  Trenton found.
I was carrying this for  Ben and it climbed on my hand

Nature's treasure.

The geese family growing more each day.

Lots of geese and other animal scat.
Fun day at the pond.

Thur. Jun 1 Yard Renovations

All week workers have been working on the yard adding sand and rototilling the sand near the tires. Frisbee golf, tables and chairs have been added to the school grounds. The bobcat has created lots of excitement for the students.

I will add more finished pictures when the work is completed.

Thurs. May 31 Symmetry_____ Butterfly and Blocks.

The children have been looking at the butterflies and learning that the wings are the same on both sides like a mirror. The children created their own creations that have symmetry.

Excellent math learning.

Wed May31 Release the Butterflies.

It is with sadness and pleasure we released the butterflies. We had them in our classroom for a few weeks. We experienced plenty of learning. I am sure each and every child can tell the life cycle of the butterfly. They learned to be a steward and care for nature. They have more respect for the creatures they see around them. It was a wonderful experience to learn and to see and share the growth of these beautiful creatures. They learned math such as symmetry. It has mirror image the same on both sides.

A fun day.
