Friday Pp The Alphabet Letter Exchange

The letter Pp 's are going  in the mail tonight for the letter exchange. A giant thank you for the support from our families. We decorated 26 Pps with the lovely materials . Here are some samples to view.

We have received 5 letters of the alphabet already. I am sending our letter just at the due date so I expect to get lots of mail next week.

Friday Sept 30 Terry Fox Run

Today  we had the Terry Fox run. The weather was warm and sky shining. We were able to walk with our reading buddies we met last week so this was real interesting. I even managed to put in a few steps myself. We are still taking pledges until next week so if you forgot today there is still time.



Wednesday Sept 28 Meet The Teacher Night

Well it was wonderful to see many families on Wednesday evening. The children took pride in showing you the classroom and the awesome learning they experience everyday. I was happy to talk briefly with you as well. Ms. McDowell and I were pleased to see you join in and create with your child the STEAM activity. Just to recap STEAM means

I really love learning with hands on materials. It is evident the children enjoyed the evening as well.

Monday Sept 26

I set up an activity last week Tower Up . Ms. McDowell brought in more materials to enhance this learning. We then set it up for the STEAM exercise for Meet the Teacher night . Here are some children hard at Thinking and Learning today.

Friday Sept 24 Reading Buddies

Today was our first visit with Mrs.Dekker's Grade 3 class. Reading buddies will come every Day 4 in the afternoon to read with the children. They will also do special crafts, play, join us for special events at the school.
It was fun to meet them today. It was extra special for Ms.McDowell since she had past students and knew sibling from some students.

Friday Sept 24 Outdoor Ed.

Today during Outdoor Ed. We had a very exciting day.

Friday Sept 24 Geese

Today Ms. McDowell took the students to explore the geese in a bare field next to the school yard.




We learned that geese fly in a V formation. We wonder if the geese are nesting , roosting to find a mate or preparing for the fall flight south .

Monday Sept.19 Stick Insect/Wasp and Clouds and Grass

Today during Outdoor Ed Ms. McDowell found a stick insect , She brought out a Terrarium and the students help set up a habitat for this unique insect.


 Ms. McDowell  did some research and we learned they eat blackberry, raspberry, and oak and rose and hazel. It is less active during the day and tends to eat during  night.
