Planning, design and problem solving.

I have been reading many books about scientists , engineers, and robots. The children enjoyed discussions about the process of building and creating a structure. We discussed gears , nuts, bolts, batteries , engines and energy. We went on a walk to find things that had nuts and bolts and screws.
It was interesting to discuss the things we found in our school.

We began to do more documenting in our classroom. We used clipboards and paper.

Fire fighters in room 104.

The children are interested in the fire fighter hats and pretending to put out fires.

Many students enjoyed the drama of pretend.

Literacy in room 104 Friday and Monday Jan 20.2020

We always try inventive ways to engage the children to read and write. I had some moon sand and put sight words in the sand and water to encourage children to label the words they find. The sand is dry when you scoop it out of the water. This created a buzz so children were interested in learning.

I read this book and we discussed what is a problem.

The children had many ideas . We read the book after and discussed a problem was an opportunity to learn. It was a wonderful discussion .
