Wed Oct 11 Fire Truck Safety

On Wednesday we had Fire Truck Safety.
We learned new things to keep us safe in our home.
  1. A knotted wire can get hot and start a fire.
  2. A tea towel hung on oven door will cause a fire.
  3. An outlet with to many wires will cause a fire.
  4. Stuff toys close to a fire place can cause afire.
  5. Hot irons left on will cause a fire.
  6. Candles burning under cupboards will cause a fire.
  7. We need to replace batteries in smoke alarms.
  8. Feel a door if we smell smoke before we open it.
  9. Crawl downstairs or to a door  when you see smoke.
  10. Have a meeting place setup in advance.
  11. Call 911
  12. Know your Street name first and the house number.

See if you can find more danger items that I missed.

Our homework is to learn our Street name and number.
This a skill I intend  to pursue with all the students in the class.
I am proud to say many of my friends know this information already. Well done parents who are ahead of me.!!!!

Thank you firefighters in Innisfil for keeping us safe.
Thank you for visiting us today.
We got to visit the inside of a fire truck too with Fire Fighter Blair.
