Fri Mar 24 Sight Word Bingo.

All week the children have been  learning sight words a fun way. Children took turns calling the words, writing them in the sand . All the children playing received a sticker. It was really fun.

Mon . Mar. 20 Jordyn Sharing.

Jordyn presented her pictures to share about her March Break.

 

Jordyn had a visit with her Grandmother in Orangeville.

She made Rollee Pollees

Jordyn said she did crafts, baked rollee pollees , and feed her grandma's dog.

One of the children asked Jordyn why her grandma hugged her in the last picture.

Mon Mar. 20 Maple Syrup

Ms. McDowell showed the students some pictures of the sap her father and brother are collecting from the trees in their yard.

 

 

They put tubes  in the holes in the trees to collect the sap . The tubes drain the sap into bottles .

 

 

 

Ms. McDowell's brother is stirring the sap as it boils in a pot.

 

 

The sap is ready to be boiled.

We discussed having a special treat like waffles and maple syrup when the syrup is ready.

 



 









Mon Mar 21 Sobey's Seeds

At Sobey's they are giving out free Wildflower seeds. It looks like  this picture. If you shop at Sobey's can you pick up the seeds  for the class.

Fri Clean Up and Math.

The custodians  are going to do extra cleaning for our classroom. The structures had to be taken down.  We did some math and discussed fractions with the blocks. We discussed the different ways to create shapes . We counted how many smaller blocks are used to create the shape.

Thurs. Mar 9 Forest.

we went on an walk in the bush today .
