Wed. Jan 10 Woodpecker In the Forest

We were super excited we saw a woodpecker in the forest. I tried to get close with the children and they were respectful to the woodpecker and let him continue with his hunt for food in the tree. Some children stayed and watched this beautiful bird all during the outdoor time in the forest.

We managed to move closer every few minutes. We learned to OBSERVE BUT DON"T DISTURB nature. When we left  the woodpecker it was still pecking a hole in the tree. We saw Ms. Chapman and Ms. Prokopec's class so I informed them of the woodpecker so they had the chance to observe and not disturb the woodpecker.
