Christyn gave us a history lesson about art . She explained Van Go .
Paintings in cave long ,long ago . My favorite animal horses. This was what they looked like with short bodies and fat bellies. She explained the materials they used to create color and the pictures in the caves. We discussed the reason to create art .We discussed to share feelings and information about ourselves.
This picture was interesting since Ms. McDowell had the discussion about antlers.

Brock is rolling the clay to make the pinch pot. He is checking to make sure there are no cracks so the pot is strong and won't break.

After we did parts of the art we would pause and listen to Christyn explain the next steps for our Van Go lesson.. She is explaining the process to make the lid for the pots here.

Christyn explained different lines and shapes as samples to help student with the design process.
Christyn explained to students to make a snake the same size as their mat. The snake would be then rolled like a snail to create the lid for the pinch pot.
Jordyn is measuring her snake roll. I believe she is right on and ready to make the top.

Fantastic day learning and creating. We had lots of compliments on the children' concentration and engagement for this activity. I was so pleased to see their attentiveness during the lessons and care when creating their work.
