Thur Oct 19 Pumpkins

Last week Ben brought in a pumpkin and we carved it out . We then cleaned the seeds and guts to observe. I read a book about pumpkins that I read last year. We discussed the pumpkin for last year and how we planted the seeds with Ms. McDowell. Well Ms. McDowell brought in her pumpkin that children planted with her last year. It was wonderful to see this circle of life. I put away some of Ben's seed so we can plant them in the spring.

The pumpkin plant children planted last year with Ms. Mcdowell.
Ms. McDowell took it home in June to plant in her garden.

Do you see the pumpkin flower?
The final product . This is the pumpkin Ms. McDowell picked from her garden that children had planted. She explained that the squirrels  ate the other pumpkin.
We are so fortunate that Ms. McDowell took such care and was able to bring this pumpkin in for the children to see.   Thank you Ms. McDowell

Thank you Ms. McDowell.
